VE Day on the 8th of May 1945 marked the end of the Second World War in Europe, the bells rang out and there was much rejoicing. This year the May Day Bank Holiday has been moved to Friday 8th May to mark the 75th Anniversary and to allow the Country to celebrate once more. The Parish Council plans to mark the occasion here in Lydford and a Steering Group has been formed to work on a programme of events for that weekend starting on Friday the 8th. We thought you might like this ADVANCE NOTICE so that you can mark your calendars in keen anticipation. If you have any ideas on the sorts of things you would like to see happen in our village please do contact David Marten with them
